Countless rankings and statistics of all kinds constantly remind us how different we are and how much the population is drifting apart. But can this be prevented by trying to make everyone the same? What happens when the system becomes more important than people? What are the dangers of extreme uniformity and diversity, which are, after all, mutually dependent?
